So, the first time is bright, but then the next time it is turned on it is in dim mode. Some other brands remember the last mode when turned on the second time, and they change mode only when the switch is used briefly. This means I have to press the switch multiple times each time I turn it on to get the full brightness.Other than that, this is a good bright LED flashlight.
