Just press against the egg and let the weighted spring pop the egg makes a nice clean cut. I’m using this on raw eggs and no issues. I don’t want to start a Lilliputian war or anything but I found that it does work best on the pointy side of the egg. I think this is only because the eggs are raw. Cooked eggs I really don’t think it would matter. Cleans easy enough. If you really want and easy clean cut on your egg, this works great.

A: It is made in Yangjiang China.

**Q: Does it come with egg holder?**
A: No is just the egg cracker

**Q: Is it microwave safe?**
A: No, The item to crack your egg does not need to go into the microwave. It is metal. The egg however is microwave safe but you have to purchase the eggs from a grocery store. :-)

**Q: Will it work for quail eggs?**
A: No, the diameter is too wide. (Average Chicken egg is 50 grams vs. a Quail which is 9 grams.) You might be able to on a larger Quail egg by cracking it from the bottom of the egg (larger part) but I wouldn't recommend getting this solely for a Quail egg. It works GREAT on chicken eggs though!

I like this gadget. I used it crack open my 3 minute hard boiled egg and found the opening this gadget created is a little too small for my porcelain, 3 minute egg spoon. Otherwise, it works as specified. I found I put a little more "mmph" while using the gadget, which doesn't make for a full, circle crack on the egg. So, I moved the gadget around the egg and repeated the steps to crack and it worked. Would I recommend? It depends; if your raw eggs's yolk is bigger than the whole this gadget creates, you may be in for a mess!
