It is a common feature and It’s a result of how the Bluetooth connection is handled between separate earpieces. We actually design to use either earbud for mono mode but canceled eventually. Because either side has a Bluetooth chipset, we want to avoid the confusion among three-point connection. So we decided to preset the two earbuds together, which means there's a master and a slave, the left earbud is not available to connect with devices on purpose. In that way, when you take the earbuds out of the case, the left side will connect to right automatically, and only master(right earbuds) is showed in Bluetooth menu. Thus to simplify all the connection, which we called push n go. Only the right side could be used as a mono mode. If not, you need to manually set up left and right before pairing with devices. Pleased to say this pair connected faultlessly at first attempt. Very happy and have restored my original rating. Great stuff!Edit: I'm returning these due to the left bud seeming to 'unpair' itself. This morning is the 3rd time in just under a fortnight it's happened. Spent my train journey to work repeatedly resetting and re-pairing the buds to try and get the left one working. Got it eventually but just too much hassle! Revised rating to 3 stars as they're great when they work.Original review: As usual for Anker/Zolo, the packaging for these is very nice.Buds themselves look and feel solidly made as does the case, which has a bit of heft due to the sizable battery within.Initially i didn't get sound from the left bud. But a few resets seemed to sort things. That's been my only criticism so far, the initial experience was pretty frustrating and it shouldn't have taken that much time and effort to get them working, hence the star deducted.As for the sound, they're not as good as my Sony WF-1000X but still great, especially for £42.99. But I didn't expect them to be in all fairness! That's not to criticise them mind, as they do sound very, very good. Though since Sony decided to pretty much bork my 1000X with the last couple of updates, rendering them practically unusable due to drops and cut-outs anywhere that's even slightly built up, it's all moot where their sonic superiority is concerned. That brings me nicely onto connectivity....The Zolo's are fantastic in this regard. Took them out today for a wander round Glasgow city centre. Where the Sony's would repeatedly drop and cut-out between buds, flip the stereo signals between buds and generally misbehave, the Zolo's were absolutely rock-solid. Great stuff!One final point. I can't say i really liked the tips. Took a lot of wiggling and twisting to get them seated nicely. I did find that the smaller tips from the WF-1000X fit the Zolo and allow them to charge in their case. Far more comfortable and really tightened up the sound too, giving a lovely taut bass. Worth a try if you have them.Edit: just a further update on tip choice. I raided my collection of spare tips and found some winners. The tapered tips supplied with Soundmagic E10's are fantastic with these buds! Fit is exceptionally good, and as you'd expect there's been an associated improvement in sound quality. The Zolo's also sit perfectly in the charge case. ### ⭐⭐⭐ The best in its class *by O***R on Reviewed in the United Kingdom 🇬🇧 on 3 March 2019* For the price these sound great. If you’re not a “hi-fi” person or “audiophile” then you should be pretty happy and with a lot of music I found them difficult to tell the difference between my other higher end stuff... but I could.They’re built pretty well, fit well and the fitting options are great to have. It is however let down by the case lid which feels a bit plasticy and tacky but looks like it should stand up fine as long as you don’t do anything stupid.I have always been delighted with Anker products, often ending up with something better than I was expecting. However in this instance I wouldn’t say I was let down, I just wasn’t completely delighted or get more than I thought I would. That is really only reason enough to drop half a star off.I do have high expectations of Anker and one thing that I really need is good support for multiple devices which I hadn’t thought about when I bought them but later felt like I expected it. Sure they pair fine to multiple devices but unless you disconnect from one, there is no way to connect from another. To put it into context, if you have been listening on your laptop at work, then put it in your bag, the buds stay connected to it and there is no way to connect to the buds from your phone. You would have to take the laptop out and disconnect it. I do realise I could change the setting to switch off bluetooth when the lid is closed, but you get the same issue with an iPad. It’s just not acceptable to me to have to disconnect to allow another device to connect. I’m not even looking for multipoint (two devices connected), I just want one device to be able to steal the connection from another. That said, there don’t seem to be a lot of devices that support multipoint, however there are more that allow one device to steal the connection from another. In this case, neither are possible. I do have a different pair of truly wireless earbuds and they have a workaround where you can put them into pairing mode by touching both buds for one second. This disconnects the other device and allows another to connect which then cancels pairing mode. It’s not great but at least it works satisfactorily. I’m sorry Anker, I know not a lot of people don’t have this functionality, but I expected more from you and these aren’t exactly super cheap.Lastly the controls. They’re adequate but just don’t seem to be anywhere near as good as they could be. There’s no volume control for a start. Smart assistant (double press) and skip (long) press seem the wrong way round.They’re fine, I don’t have any more issues with them so if you’re using them with one device and you’re happy with the controls then go for them. 100 hours is an amazing battery life but I carry a power bank with me most of the time and charge devices every night anyway. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great battery, durability could potentially be an issue though. *by E***T on Reviewed in the United Kingdom 🇬🇧 on 23 April 2019* I purchased these earbuds back at the beginning of March when there was a ‘Lightning Deal’ (34% discount) and was very impressed with the quality of the case and buds. The sound quality was quite good and the Bluetooth range was very good. After a couple of days use, I did find some strange behaviour in which the sound when watching a video or listening to music, on either my phone or tablet, would intermittently cut out for a split second. It was quite annoying and not a deal breaker and I didn’t feel it warranted a return.However, a few days ago (so just under 6 weeks of use, 1 hour a day) one of the buds no longer charged and looking at the charging case, it appears one of the charging pins has broken (and because they are distinctly left and right buds, I could not use the other side to charge) This meant I had no option but to return the buds which is a shame as I liked them.I’m going to give them 4 stars though as I am disappointed with the durability of the charging case – I was extremely careful and placed the charging case in another protective case and it was never dropped during my ownership. To have the charging pin break from normal use shouldn’t really happen.
