I decided to hook my shop vac to one end of the vent. Make sure it's a tight seal (most vents are about 4" in diameter and shop vac hoses are much smaller). I took a 6" square sheet of aluminum and cut a hole the size of the shop vac hose such that it fit snugly without letting any other air through. Then I fastened the aluminum crudely with duct tape to the vent opening. I turned on the shop vac and from the other side of the vent outside (about 25' away) I used the narrow-long brush and joined the extension pieces as it spun down the vent with a drill. I had no idea whether or not my idea even worked, but much to my surprise I opened the shop vac and it was caked with lint! Likely about 30 years-worth from the previous home owner. I highly recommend this approach and wouldn't do it any other way... you don't want to risk compacting the lint at a particular spot deep in the vent. It needs some air flow to help suck it out. Try it, you won't be disappointed! Well worth the effort! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Dryer cleaning tool *by D***R on Reviewed in the United States on September 22, 2019* This is a great tool.
