It creates a beautiful ambiance and the perfect shushing noise for our newborn child. We have been using it for over 3 years with no problems with the motor, etc and it's still running strong.Here are the few problems that we have encountered:You should always use distilled water to prevent water marks on the glass. Not a big deal, but it goes through about 5 gallons per month.You need to adjust the water flow so that enough water is flowing to fully cover the glass, but not enough to splash out onto your carpet.The pump will get very loud when the water level gets low. Not a big deal if you keep the basin full.The basin collects bugs.
