I was skeptical about buying this unit because of the reviews that say the unit would heat for a minute then cut off and would not come back on. They were running a super sale for $199 I could NOT pass up such a great deal. I had to give it a try. I watched a video on Amazon as someone tested their unit. So we took it out the box and plugged it in and the unit heated for 1 minute and then cut off. Really!!! But my husband wasn’t buying that nonsense....OMG the solution is so simple and makes perfect sense.PLEASE TRY THIS BEFORE RETURNING OR CALLING CUSTOMER SERVICE.Because we did as the video and set the unit on the floor and plugged it in, as a safety mechanism the unit cuts off because the heat source is compromised on a bottom heating unit. The video, as we learned, was for a top heated unit so it works fine when you set it on a floor or table top. Once we elevated the unit to test it (see pic), it ran perfectly. Putting out a decent amount of heat for 30 minutes without cutting off. It has buttons on the side or you can use the remote (2AAA batteries not included) and it will even display the temperature. The unit is sturdy. (Should use 2 people to lift.) I am very happy with our purchases. It will add such ambiance to the space. We purchased 2 for ourselves and 1 for a friend. I may update once we mount it. I hope this helps. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Big & Beautiful! *by V***. on Reviewed in the United States on September 5, 2019* I rarely do reviews, but I love this electric fireplace! I installed this below my TV and the large 58" size of this fireplace matches nicely. The installation was pretty easy, even as a one person job by someone not very good at doing things like this. (Namely me - a not particularly strong or handyman savvy gal.) It turned out beautifully. I currently am using the white frame, and appreciate that I can easily switch it to the black frame if I so choose. I love that it does not include the fake looking logs, and I'm using the white stones which were included. The light glows through the stones and looks really nice. The plastic crystals also included look good as well, and it was quite the decision on which to utilize. I like the multiple options of changing the color of the underlying lights as well as the flame, which creates many many combinations to choose from. I cannot yet a test to the functionality of the heater, as it is summer and I have not used it other than to test that it works. That being said, I didn't purchase this for the heater rather for the ambience. I'll also note this was one of the least expensive options for this size, and it does not disappoint at all.
