**Q: Is this vip 211 the older version K or the newer version Z**
A: If it doesn't have a Z in the model number it is a K model. The Z model has the faster chip and more memory. We have the Z model and love it.

**Q: does it include the smart card ?**
A: Smart Card is not included. You need one from dish.

Great product used to receive Dish Network programming at the camp ground this summer never missed a program all summer did not use the HD so I do not know how that works!

    Timer feature fails, Dish will not correct it

Got one from Dish and the timer feature turns itself off every night requiring a complete daily setup of timers.  They have known about the problem experienced by several customers for over 5 months and have not fixed it.  In fact, they keep denying there is a problem in spite of the complaints from multiple customers.
