## Description

Creatine is a compound that occurs naturally in the body, primarily in skeletal muscle. Creatine’s function is to serve as a precursor to adenosine triphosphate (ATP), the form of chemical energy used by all cells.* Body stores of creatine create a pool of readily available ATP for energy, which is necessary for fueling quick bursts of power and strength.* Studies have demonstrated that creatine supplementation can help to maintain existing muscle tissue, support the growth and development of lean mass, and promote optimal performance during short bouts of intense exercise.* NOW® Micronized Creatine Monohydrate mixes easily and has no additives or preservatives. Natural color variation may occur in this product.

Review: Excellent quality and very good performance - “I’ve been using this NOW Sports creatine monohydrate for several weeks now and I’m very happy with the results. It mixes easily with water or juice, has no strong taste, and hasn’t caused me any stomach upset. I’ve noticed an improvement in my performance during workouts, especially strength and endurance exercises. The 600g container lasts a long time and offers good value for money. Plus, NOW Sports has a good reputation, which gave me confidence when buying it. If you’re looking for a pure, effective, and high-quality creatine monohydrate, I definitely recommend this product. I would buy it again without hesitation.”
Review: Trusted brand - I use it as a vegetarian although I do not think it is veg sourced - Made in the USA. 100% pure creatine monohydrate with no fillers. I use lots of NOW products and love them all. They are all all-natural and most are Made in the USA. Creatine monohydrate is one of the only legal substances that is proven to increase muscle mass long term in hundreds of clinical studies, with only one study citing a negative impact (possibly reacts badly if you are on medication that adversely affects kidney function). It has a ton of research to back it up, many of which you can just look up on wikipedia so I won't repeat them here. It is the only thing I supplement with other than protein. The way creatine works is as a energy reserve for your muscles so when you are deep into intense exercise it can be called on.. like a long-term storage-sugar that waits in your muscles until it is ready to be used. Make sure you drink plenty of water when supplementing with creatine because it is similar to a salt, if you let yourself get dehydrated much of its benefits will be countered. THE REST OF THE REVIEW IS FROM A VEGETARIAN BODYBUILDERS PERSPECTIVE Personally, I am vegetarian, so naturally I get zero creatine supplemented by my diet. There was one study done on creatine with vegetarians that showed they far out-preformed meat-eating creatine users in cognitive tests. And out-preformed vegetarians who weren't supplementing with creatine. So that is just a double bonus. There is a difference in mental clarity although you do not need the mega-doses prescribed for body building for that effect. HOWEVER, creatine is typically not sourced from plant sources, although a plant sourced creatine exists it is extremely expensive, most creatine is actually synthesized from amino acids. The amino acids could be sourced from any number of plant or animal sources, from whey, to eggs, to plants, or all of the above. Likely they are sourced from the cheapest and most commonly available sources but it's hard to find that stuff out. It doesn't say on the bottle but two reviewers posted helpful links in the comments after the review that this is suitable for vegetarians/vegans. I'm a vegetarian body builder so with creatine I am willing to bend because there are so many studies backing it up in addition to the vegetarian study. After beginning supplementation I could instantly push myself for 20% more reps.. and I always do reps until muscular failure so I doubt it is a placebo effect. Other clinical studies also dual tested with placebo's of course so there is more than just my personal experience supporting that. BUT there is less effect for meat eaters because creatine is already naturally found in meat. Vegetarians will notice a much larger impact in their workouts. I have been vegetarian for 12 years, but I used creatine before I became vegetarian. My memory is hazy, but I remember it basically doing nothing. But as a vegetarian BAM! instant results. I used creatine for a year when I thought a glass of red wine a day was good for you. That will mess you up. Body building, creatine, and alcohol in any quantity do not mix. Creatine already dehydrates you because it is a salt, as does hard workouts. Throw a bit of alcohol into the mix, which also dehydrates you due to sulfates, and it made me physically ill. Some studies in the past have shown that creatine can affect the liver or kidneys, but those studies have been refuted and even the European union's medical board gave the opinion that 3G of creatine a day for years of use is completely harmless. But alcohol does effect liver and kidneys so drinking alcohol is essentially the same thing as taking a medication that affects those organs, so I would highly advise against mixing creatine with alcohol. Hope this review helped.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Why does the product shown say 'Made In USA' but when it's actuality received it clearly states "Product of China"?!**
A: The creatine itself is from China. Bulk Supplements, a competitor, says there is no US source for it. The "Made in USA" labels basically mean "packaged in USA".

**Q: How much water do you need to drink while taking Creatine? I've heard that you need at least a gallon but is that too much or necessary?**
A: That's a hard question to give an exact number to. I've upped my intake a little. I would guess between a liter and 2 liters a day, so that's around a quart to half a gallon. I also take my doses with loads of water. That said how much water you really need depends on your activity level, metabolism, climate, etc. If you're already getting enough water to feel hydrated and you take the creatine you might notice a little dryness in your mouth or throat, if so just try drinking an extra glass. If it persists drink a second extra glass. If you're drinking plenty already you'll probably never notice the difference. Also once you reach "saturation" (after about 4 weeks of regular dosing) then you'll have as much water in the muscles as they'll hold (until you grow them--and that's slow) and the only reason you might need more water in a day is because you're no working harder at the gym with all that new-found strength. So, long story short, start taking it, if you feel like hydrating a little more then do so, if you still feel like you're well hydrated then chances are you are getting enough fluid in and don't need to worry about adding much more.

**Q: Why have they stopped including the measuring scoop?**
A: Different people require different amounts. Plus it’s a bulk supplement so it has multiple uses and it’s a cost saver.

**Q: Do they test for heavy metals?**
A: We test every raw material and every blend for heavy metals and ensure that our strict limits are always met to assure safety.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great buy
*by M***E on June 4, 2026*

I got this size and brand due to the great value for money! This one is unflavored which most are and thats good for me. It mixes pretty much the same as most creatine products but actually slightly better so I'd say solubility is good. Unfortunately there's no scoop inside and thats the only down side. No digestion problems, which can happen with a small number pf people when taking creatine but this product isn't causing this. This works well as taking regular creatine should boost strength and some endurance.
