The bed itself was a mistake I made some time ago but I couldn't afford to throw it away and buy a softer one for anywhere from $500 on up so after putting up with it for a month or two, I started to look at toppers. This one jumped out at me because the price was right and because it was all natural (I am sensitive and sometimes allergic to synthetics, especially when they are next to my skin). Then again, I'd never slept on latex before, so it was a bit of a gamble. When I first opened it up and lay down, I gave a deep sigh. This stuff was so comfortable and soft (!) yet it didn't give so much that I felt I was about to sink straight thru to the floor. So far so good, I thought. Then I slept on it--straight through the night--and didn't have any of my usual stiffness--though I have to say it took me a little while because I simply went about my morning without feeling sore before I remembered how I usually felt after sleeping on just the mattress itself. What a great realization THAT was!So I am pretty well sold on it. Basically, it gave me a good night's sleep, saved me a bundle of money and was all natural, to boot. Hopefully, this experience will continue night after night, but at this point I don't see why it shouldn't.You may be able to get by with the 2" instead of the 3", depending on how firm the mattress is underneath. Mattress got great ratings but some folks say its little firm. I get the mattress and it is not just a little firm it is hard. So I see toppers. i buy and return 2. The first is a "soft" memory foam 3". Wife says too soft and feels trapped. Then a poly filled topper. Does nothing. Last one was this one. It is great, it solved the hard bed issue and was resilient enough that my wife is not "trapped" in the bed.
