Recommend adopting an Otis for your instant pot! πŸ‘πŸ» ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Nelson is an necessary addition to your multi-cooker *by K***E on Reviewed in the United States πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ on September 24, 2019* Meet Nelson, he is a Dragon who breathes steam from a pressure cooker in a valiant effort to save your kitchen cabinets from certain destruction.If you are cooking with a multi-pot and you don't have an island chances are your multi-pot is sitting under some wall mounted cabinets. Over time the steam vented from the multi-pot can begin to warp, mold, delaminate or ruin the finish on your cabinets. Nelson solves this problem and he's adorable. The steam vents out of his mouth and away from the underside of the cabinets above. Nelson fits a variety of multi-pots.There are two drawbacks to Nelson. First he is cute. I don't have small children but I could see a young child reaching for him and potentially getting burned by accidentally moving the steam release valve so PLEASE watch children carefully around this. Second, Nelson is a pain in the rear to clean. The steam is vented through Nelson. It comes up from the bottom and out his mouth so it looks like he is breathing smoke. It's pretty cool but the condensation builds up and he inevitably gets water built up inside him. He has a white ring that can be removed in his base. I have no idea what this is for but since it was included I assume it's important and keep it there. When you remove this ring you can see that he has a ridge of material along the bottom that this ring rests against when inserted. This material forms a lip and the water is caught and trapped in here. When you turn him upside down to drain the water from here it all goes into his nose with very little of it coming out of his mouth. So then you turn him right side up and it all drains back into his base. While this is just water from the steam, there is likely some food particles that escape with the steam and over time I can see this getting gross! I imagine it turning into slime or mold. So EVERY time I use Nelson I turn him upside down when done, cram the majority of a paper towel in his underside so the majority of it rests around his neck. Then I flip him back over and twist around the paper towel as much as possible to dry out his insides. He is dishwasher safe I believe but that doesn't solve the problem of trapped water so this is the only solution I have found. it would be super nice if the manufacture would either close off his nose so water would drain out of his mouth.
