**Q: Is it water tight?**
A: If you seal the base it is. The top is sealed and should resist rain or spills. I do not think it can be submerged though.

**Q: Is it lockable?**
A: To be honest not sure. I bought it but never used it. I have it for sale if interested. I can save you some money if you want to buy it. It’s still brand new in the original crate.

**Q: What does it weigh?**
A: As an official, authorized seller of Global Industrial brand products the correct answer to your question is 150 lbs.

**Q: can this be installed on a pitched asphalt shingled roof?**
A: I don't see why you couldn't.  Just keep in mind that it is very heavy so you want it to rest on structure not the roof deck alone.

Latch rusted through and failed after 1 year of service. Contacted global and they said they offer no replacement parts and expect you to buy an entirely new roof latch. Run from this company!
