The thing is awesome. It really works great. It pulls the logs over to the splitter and then lifts the logs. Big red oak rounds 25 inches across by 16-18 inches long. The nice thing about it is that it holds the wood for you. When you split one of the big rounds, leave the winch attached to the wood split the wood in half. That leaves half the weight of the wood on the log splitter and half the weight of the wood on the winch. Split the half round again, leaving a size that is a lot easier to manage. I also have a trailer with a marine size battery.
