It is filled with anti-freeze, and so requires special handling, can not be put through the dishwasher. I bought it after reading a review of a similar model which indicated this it is what is used in in ice cream parlors. It was inexpensive enough that I thought worth taking a chance on.I have nicely designed scoop from Zyliss Zyliss Right Scoop Assorted Colors which I love, however...I made some ice cream for my son's birthday with a fabulous recipe from the New York Times. It tastes great, if you can get it out of the container. It is a very dense, rich ice cream which froze very solid. It has taken quite a bit of work to get any out with my regular scoop, but this has worked like magic.I never would have considered purchasing a scoop filled with anti-freeze until I saw that review, so Thank you to whoever recommended it, and I am passing that recommendation on, as I a finding that this works quite well, well enough that I intend to buy another in a different size (because I like that recipe too). ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Scoops like butter 🧈 *by A***L on January 31, 2024* This is hands down the best ice cream scoop out there.
