We had our contractor install a plug on the wall specifically for this towel warming. Unlike people on this review who had plug integrated with their light switch, out plug was a live wire. HELPFUL HINT - if you have a live plug like ours, we purchased the desertcart Smart Plug. Then you can program times you want it on or turn it off remotely if you forget to turn it off. It gets really hot so don't touch the bars when it's on. We have the warmer turn on an hour before showering and it literally gets the towels cozy and warm. If you accidentally leave it on overnight (we have done this but not recommended), it will get your 100% cotton towels crispy.
