## Questions & Answers

**Q: Does anyone know if / where I might be able to buy kuksa mug blanks?**
A: I don't, in my opinion the best kuksas are made from green hardwood, preferably birch. Greenwood is much easier to work with hand tools. If you have power than any hardwood will do just stay away from any that are toxic, or have a strong order. I have also made kuksas by laminating dry 1" thick hardwood broads together. Your best bet for green wood is to contact someone who supplies firewood locally.

**Q: Does this wood split while carving? the basswood i purchased at hobby lobby splits easily (possibly due to kiln drying?). if it splits, i quits.**
A: You may have got a batch from Hobby Lobby that was old and dried out. 
Our wood is milled, kiln dried while retaining 8-10% moisture and sold within a few months of being cut.
Sharp knife, shallow cuts and you will find out wood butter smooth.

**Q: Soft enough for a kid to sand for science project?**
A: Yes.  I used this set for a Cub Scout whittling project.  This wood is not quite as soft as Balsa, but hand-sanding it is definitely possible.

**Q: Could have sworn i bought 1.25x1.25x6” from here. do you have it? if so where do i look.**
A: Heineken Wood is a great place you can order whatever dimensions you want and the wood is excellent
