The scale is a little rough coming in at 100pound increments between lines on the gauge, but you don't have to be a genius to figure the weight within ten pounds which is more than sufficient. Although I won't be using this to tow, I can easily and confidently check my tongue weight before every trip .

I was impressed that not only is this a tongue weight scale, but it is a full time hitch also rated at 10K lbs. Keeping it on your vehicle at all times, gives you a full time tongue weight scale for every trailer and load you haul. No more guess work. Great tow hitch. I needed a tow hitch that could check my tongue weight. It works perfectly. It seems to be reasonably accurate. It is beautiful machine aluminum. Do not leave it on your vehicle without a locking hitch pin. Someone will help themselves to it.
