Get yourself a Claude Lakey 6* for soprano **Q: is tone [intonation] good for soprano ?** A: Hi: I have Selmer Seles Axeos Alto, and Ref. 54 Tenor, Plus Yamaha 62iii Tenor, and Buescher Big B Tenor 1945, I sold my Soprano, but I use the Otto Link brand on all horns. This is a world class mouthpiece in 24K gold. You will never sell it. Compared to other's it has that vintage tone, but it's smooth. Not like my Jody Jazz which has a cutout port that makes it too loud for soft playing. I can play anything with my Links in all registers. Simply put this is a world class mouthpiece and worth the price. I should also mention that I use Harry Hartman Carbon M, MS, Reeds. These Reeds are the finest Carbon blended Reeds in the World. They look, feel, and play like Cane Reeds. I purchased all five hardness's for my Selmer Tenor 54. The Reeds are true to marking; a Soft is 1.5, Medium Soft is 2.0, Medium is a 21/2, Medium Hard is 3.0, and Hard is 3.5. I use a Metal 24 K Gold Otto Link Vintage 5* with a BG LFJO Ligature. Make sure that you order the right Reed; there are (2) kinds of Carbon, and (1) kind of Hemp. My Reeds are Standard, NOT the Classical; which are for a different type of mouthpiece. These Reeds play perfect with no warm-up, or moisture required.
