**Q: Are these food safe?**
A: You will need to order stainless steel balls for a food safe application because chrome steel is not a safe option.  Search Amazon for this item # B0184ELRE6 and you can pick the quantity you need.  Thanks for your interest in BC Precision products.

**Q: Are these stainless? They are not gonna rust, aren't they?**
A: These are not a "stainless" Alloy. These will in fact rust given certain conditions.

**Q: Will these 1" bearings crack when frozen?**
A: At 32 degrees F (0 degrees C) no.  I suppose you could get them deep enough into the minus Fahrenheit scale to crack them in use.  Like at the poles or in space.  They state that these meet E52100.

**Q: Can I solder a nail to the ball?**
A: Bruce, we are not sure.  I know that one could be welded to it but I am unsure about soldering.  Thanks for your interest in BC Precision products.
