In my unwillingness to give up these beverages, a year or two ago I decided to begin using straws so I can minimize the amount of contact that acid has to my teeth. I learned to reuse plastic straws since I know how bad they are for the environment, but eventually they would break, wear down, etc.My partner bought me these as an alternative, and I couldn't be happier. They're light weight, literally impossible to permanently deform, and are easy to clean with the provided thing [just don't lose it lol]. Since the pack came with 4 straws I always keep one on me in the travel container, and leave the others in various places I study.If you are one to use straws on a regular basis, it is worth it [even if the plastic ones are free]. I can’t stand the taste of a metallic straw. I put mine in dishwasher. I only hope the cleaner won’t rust.Update: straws are great and fold nicely. However, they are too short for most of the tumblers and cups I use.
