I'm not using it for animals, however -- at least not directly. I put it on my patio with plants inside to keep the squirrels from digging in the pots! Because this isn't designed for outside use (I assume) it will likely rust, but for now is serving the purpose. My only real objection is that the company obviously has a sense of humor -- the assembly instructions were INSIDE the crate! Luckily, it wasn't too hard to figure out, but if you're the least bit challenged you might want to think about that detail. But my husband is going to build off of it so he can have house outside when we gone. So I had to take stars away. Just cause he broke out.
