So I replaced it and added a second one. So the same side is blowing out, and the one on the other side is blowing in. 2 fans now so double the noise of 1 fan I assume. I'll see how well it works like this. There are 2 direction arrows on it. One shows airflow direction, the other shows what way the fan is going to spin. While the Plug has a fat end so it can only plug in one way. It really wouldn't matter as the fan will s[in the same direction even if you could turn it around. I ended up cutting the plugs off anyway so I could directly wire them up to my Temp controller I have mounted on my case. The typcial chest freezer with wood collar (8 inch riser), as you know the temperature difference from the bottom of the freezer to the top of the freezer can be 10-15F difference. Well that's enough to have your exposed beer lines foam up. Well this fan, mounted at the top, blowing air down circulates the cold air around to keep it an even temperature. This fan is quiet, and I specially chose the low speed model as my keezer was going to be inside the house, I wanted to keep noise down. This fan pushes more than enough air per minute and it's energy draw is so little that I can run it non-stop without worry. I will highly recommend you plug this fan into a GFCI outlet or GFCI adapter outlet (adapter outlet on desertcart - less than 13 bucks). Because the inside of a keezer can be humid, it's important to protect yourself. What the description doesn't tell you is that the power cord is removable. That is a huge bonus! It plugs right into the fan. Note, the diameter of the plug is approximately 9/16" but I needed a 7/8" hole to fit the plug (not ac part) through the keezer wall. A piece of cork plugged the hole with the wire passing through it. Overall the fan is solid, looks nice and comes all the bolts, nuts, rubber washers and good documentation. I assume I can't do this because it is not possible to reverse the polarity,right?** A: It depends how you you mount it. There is an arrow to tell you which way the air is flowing so you should be able to rotate it to the direction desired. I needed it to suck and was mounting it inside a box followed the arrow and it worked wonderfully. **Q: I need to feed this cable thru small opening. Does power cord detach at the fan?** A: Yeah the power cord can be detached at the fan and run thru an opening then reattached very easily. **Q: Is it possible to reverse the polarity and/or vary the voltage (rpm)?** A: This is an 120VAC alternating current fan. There is no way to reverse the polarity because it doesn't have a polarity. It's AC. You could reverse polarity (and direction) on a DC (direct current fan) but not on an AC motor/fan.As far as slowing the fan down, you could probably apply some sort of SCR or Resistor voltage control in-line with the fan however, the fan may or may not be happy with decreased voltage and could possible fail. It was designed as a one-speed fan. I would look for a fan that had capability of reversal & speed control built-in by design if I was to pursue your fan dream.
