Reliable performance: case and elements are all-metal (silumin), not plastic. High image quality: eyepieces, objectives and all other optical elements are multi-coated and highly transparent. Focusing mechanism and stage move smoothly, without jerks or backlash. Magnification up to 640x Microscope magnification depends on the objective lens and eyepiece lens magnifications. Eyepiece is the upper part of the tube of the microscope that you look into. Objective is located below; and creates the image you see in the eyepiece. One WF 16x eyepiece and three objectives (4x, 10x and 40x) are included in the package. Observing non-transparent objects The Levenhuk 2L NG Microscope, unlike other teaching microscopes, is equipped with two built-in illuminations. Both illuminations are LED, which ensures minimal energy consumption while providing sufficient light. I bought this microscope for my 9 year old stepdaughter and she LOVED it, as did the adults at the birthday party. This microscope is made of metal and comes with a lifetime warranty. Many of the microscopes I had viewed before purchasing this were made of plastic and were very expensive. This microscope comes in three different versions, at different prices, with different options. I bought the basic version and it was still very nice. This microscope comes in different colors. The optics are very clear and bright, the magnification is very powerful. There are 2 lighting options for this microscope, the first is a light above the stage for better illumination overall, and the second is the light source under the stage where you can change the level of light seen for viewing. We were able to set this microscope up in minutes and the birthday girl had no problem operating it or changing the slides. This microscope is sturdy and made to last. It is used in many of the schools in our area.
