Can this product help me increase speed going down staircase?** A: IMO there are more components in going down stairs than going up and more than this device can train for. This is specifically for balance and speed and trained reaction time. The more comfortable you are on your feet the easier it will be to maintain balance and move around. Stairs however have an added complexity of strength in the knees needed to absorb impact and depth perception/spacial awareness needed to land correctly. It's not a cure all but it won't hurt either. You will still need to strength train your knees/quads and work on spatial awareness. **Q: what is the width of this ladder ?** A: Yes: the bar tip side to side is 17" and the strap inside edge to edge is 14". This is functional on concrete but I think it could be better at an inch or so wider. Each bar is 1 1/4 inch wide and the inside edges of two bars is 14 1/2 inch. There is notable tripping risk requiring looking at the ladder and caution with the learning curve. I have found it very useful and certainly helps tune attention to footwork. Are the 13in spacings too wide? Should I get an adjustable width ladder??** A: My grandkids play in it all the time, they are 10,8 and 5 years old. The 5 year old just has a good time but the other 2 are good at it. He was working on his speed and agility, so of course, an agility ladder is a must. This ladder comes with a nice carrying bag, which makes it easy to keep in the truck of your car/gym bag, yet protect it from getting wear and tear from other items in the same area, etc. This was a nice addition to his workout supplies and was handy for him to keep in the truck of his car. When he got to the football field, he'd grab it and go. He'd place it on the field and perform his agility drills. When he's done, he just grabs it, collapes it and places it back into the carrying bag til next time. Made of good quality and is 7 months old and still going strong.
