So..that means 2 wrenches to tune the head.. huh?? The rim tooth is not deep enough to grab the rim . When torqued the entire tailpiece cage bent an deformed..junk just plain junk. Can't return since it's so buggered up. DO NOT BUY...! ### ⭐⭐⭐ 3.0 out of 5 stars Simple functional steel tailpiece *by R***G on Reviewed in the United States on May 7, 2024* There are many inexpensive banjo tailpieces offered on Amazon in the $15-$20 range that superficially resemble US made tailpieces selling in the $50-$100 range. There are minimal specifications given but most indicate they are made of "metal", which probably indicates they are fabricated in Asia from recycled metal. The downward pressure on tailpiece is considerable and low quality metal will break under tension. This Golden Gate tailpiece is made in Japan and, as the specifications indicate, it is made of steel. It is described as a "Waverly Style" tailpiece but is not exactly the same as a Waverly tailpiece: specifically it lacks a spring to hold down the cover. The cover configuration is also different, which makes changing strings more difficult because the opening over the hooks is too small when the tailpiece is hinged back. Since the tailpiece is held together with machine screws, it is possible to remove the cover and put the tailpiece back together for a functional open pressure tailpiece without a cover (as shown in the photo).
