However, I consider myself hooked and, in the long run, will spend much less than if I had stayed with cartridge razors and canned shaving gel. I have researched the blogs and their comments on this brush and the comparisons to more expensive brushes of similar density and hair quality. They were correct. The knot is dense, the badger is soft with plenty of body, and the handle is absolutely stunning (the online picture does not do it justice). The hairs are pre-sterilized and have no odor. The WSP Prince two-band has a much smaller bloom and I find this to be more luxurious. I am now waiting to see how this brush behaves down the road and, so far, it appears to have better flow than the Prince has. This is a brush that exudes quality and, IMHO, worth not having to pay much more just to have a more recognizable name. ### ⭐⭐ 2.0 out of 5 stars Not Impressed *by B***T on Reviewed in the United States on June 29, 2014* Lot of bristles (more than you need honestly), but if you're looking for soft look elsewhere. These are a bit stiff. I previously owned a Rooney that cost half as much and felt considerably nicer on the face, but this is also a matter of personal preference I suppose.The real let down was that after less than a year (and about 20 uses), the bristles came completely detached from the handle. I e-mailed the seller who was quite responsive and offered to repair, but he also informed me that he has a Youtube video with instructions for gluing it yourself.If he's got a video to address the problem, how often does this happen? Not befitting of a $120 brush. You can do better for the money. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4.0 out of 5 stars Almost top of the line for an awesome price! *by J***K on Reviewed in the United States on February 24, 2014* Having have used some of the best production brushes on the market, I've got to give this one a good rating.The badger hair is VERY densely packed so this puppy holds a ton of water and retains heat like any top of the line brush should.The handle is gorgeous. I've got a real tortoise she'll brush at home and , side-by-side, you can't tell the difference. The handle is exactly what it says, stubby. I have average sized hands. And the fit is perfect.The Stubby doesn't lack in backbone either. With the almost extreme density of this brush, using it is like pushing your face against a wall of lather. Brushes like this one can be lather in the palm or in a scuttle, but this brush really stand out when face-lathering. The density of the large-ish knot makes this brush use quite a bit of product, but it's no lather hog. Just as easily as it whips it up (and that's very easily), it gives it back. This brush hasn't shed a single hair in three months either! That's just incredible. This is a really well put together tool.The reason I have to give it four stars is because it just isn't soft. The hair used on this brush is so thick that calling it "SuperFine" feels misleading. On the shaving forums, people compare the Stubby to the likes of Simpson's CH2 Super Two Band or the Rooney 2XL Super Two Band. In my opinion, that isn't fair to Rooney or Simpson.Don't get me wrong, it isn't prickly either. The best way to describe this brush is to say that it's very "scrubby". The pillow-soft tips of higher end brushes as dense as this one create a slimy feeling that us shave geeks call "gel-like". You don't get that with the Stubby. You can feel every single hair individually as the brush runs along your face. The only way I can describe it is like a damp face cloth. It isn't bad. I actually kind of like it. It just isn't as advertised. It just doesn't feel like a silvertip to me.Silvertip or not, this brush is maybe the best value you can find on a shaving brush for under $120.00. I would definitely not dissuade anyone from buying this brush. It just isn't my cup of tea. I think I'm more suited to the High Mountain White Stubby that you can also find here on Amazon for $169.95. I'll review that one after I spend some time with it. It arrives tomorrow. If you're thinking of buying this brush, I say go for it. Your face and your wallet will thank you.
