It has an extended glass top to properly hold the unit in place. The TI-2B features patented power sharing technology that enables to the cooktop to not only be energy efficient but the convenience off running off of a standard wall outlet. Power sharing works by dividing the power between the two burners at 100/0, 50/50, 80/20, 70/30, etc. This allows the unit to have 1800 watts available to the burners. The TI-2B requires induction compatible cookware to operate. Cookware that has a flat bottom, is between 4 and 10 inches in diameter, and is magnetic. It cannot be used with regular pots and pans. It comes with a limited 2 year warranty and support at warranty@trueinduction.com. ## Features - German made Schott-Ceran smooth ceramic glass that is scratch, chip/shatter, high heat resistant and has no crevices for controls making it simple to clean.The unit has a one piece ceramic glass surface made for easy cleaning. I'd purchase it again. ### ⭐ NOT Plug and Play *by D***E on December 13, 2017* Is the manufacturer aware ( I wasn't) that an 1800 watt 120V load requires a 20 amp breaker and appropriate wire... apparently not. I had to replace my 15 amp breaker AND run a new wire from the breaker box $$$. Manual says to unplug the unit after use. I called the manufacturer to ask why and was told that the standby mode (unit plugged in and powered but no burners on) would burn out the control board in a few months. Since the unit is to be installed in-counter with the plug at the back of a cabinet I could wade through a cabinet full of stuff to unplug it AFTER EVERY USE or install a switch on the wall above the counter. Installing the switch cost me more $$$. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Induction stovetop *by C***8 on February 16, 2017* Fantastic product. I bought this for our RV. We had it mounted in a granite countertop and it can be used as countertop when not in use. Heats up food instantly. Takes a bit of getting used to. But as soon as you understand you have to have something in the pan before it will work, then you've got it down.
