It replaced a smaller LapGear desk that I’ve had for 5 years. I wanted a spot to rest my phone next to the computer, and with this desk, I can use the cutout or the rubberized mouse pad to hold the phone without it slipping off. I don’t use a mouse with my laptop, but the space on this desk intended for that purpose is ideal. The carbon fiber look surface is very nice and looks high-end. The two bolster pillows underneath are much better than my previous, smaller desk that had just one bean-filled pillow. The two separate pillows that run horizontally across the top and bottom of the underside of this desk do a much better job at supporting the computer+desk and keeping it all level.
