They are easy to link together and withstand being outdoors in Vermont winters without losing too much elasticity from year to year. I have been getting 2 years winter use, then continue to use them in the garage and during the summer. I think I have only thrown one away because its elasticity was shot (out of maybe 20 that I have used).
