Well, it is more expensive but it's not "the same thing." The dimensions of the HD sheets are 24"x24" +/- 1/4". These are exactly 24"x24". Also the HD sheets are often warped and the edges are sometimes raised so don't lie flat. These do lie flat and are never warped. While these issues may not be important for use as insulation in construction, they are important for the hobby/craft use I put them to.
