Although it's listed as a 50W (10A) charger, on the charger itself, it says it's a 2.4A x 5 port charger. I suspect that the total current output is probably limited to 10A, not 12A. The body of the charger is blocky and larger than similar Anker chargers, but it seems to work as advertised, charging our Kindle Fire HD 8s and Note 3 phones. We also run a small music lamp from this supply and it can do it all without any complaints. Having a power cord makes it easier to connect to surge suppressors than wall warts.The blue light on this is not the garish blue lantern that attempts to light up your whole bedroom at night, but rather a subtle indicator.
