It is darker than I anticipated, more Cognac even in Light Brown but not so dark that I wouldn't keep it. I totally am keeping it! It was also packaged very well. I am keeping the duster bag it came in too. It doesn't seem heavy on its own. The straps are long enough and flat enough where they should stay on a shoulder. The straps are also adjustable. This bag has just the right amount of structure for when it's full and also just right to fold and pack flat into a suitcase if need be. I made sure my MacBook fit in there and it fits perfectly (and the top zips fine with the laptop inside). I am looking forward to using this bag this summer season and also when I travel. It will probably fit fine underneath an economy seat on a plane if it's laying flat on one of its sides. I love the zippered closure for the main compartment, and also the generous sized also zipper compartment on one of its sides. I'd say this is a good dupe for the Madewell totes at about half the cost.
