I have had rag wool before and they were a heavier material... My hand is not a 'paw', and the Lg/XLg barely fits... But 'snug' is not all that bad... I knock off the two stars mostly because of the thumb... It doesn't look attached all that hefty... and, when you spread out all your fingers, the thumb binds, limiting some of its movement. My thumb could spread wider than the glove does... But then, it's not that often one would have their hand in that position...I am in FL, so I can't attest to how well they handle the cold, but they feel warm as I am setting here checking them out... They are nice looking and I believe they will do well for a while...A tip I have found for 'knit' gloves... Do not pull on the cuff to put them on, and do not pull on the fingers to take them off... The suede leather palms help grip the steering wheel whereas regular rag wool gloves can be a little slippery. He wears a medium in just about everything and the S/M size fit him perfectly.
