Some are flops, some are fun, but they eventually get bored with them, it's rare when a toy stays the fan favorite for years! This is one of those old faithful toys that they never seem to get tired of (I can certainly say that I might be a little tired of it though; lol). They really love the crinkly material and of course the feathers. It has enough body for them to really get their claws and teeth into, it's not small with only a few feathers like I have seen on similar toys that look like this. This one is 'the kind'. Also, it really can take some serious abuse! We did destroy our first one but, it took a long time and a lot of wear and tear for it to come to that so, we have had two so far; 100% worth it! No control over which color you get though... Our first one was kind of an orangey color and the second one is on the blue side. We discovered it in a local (no-longer-open) pet shop almost 10 years ago. And she has to have it. She drags it up and down the stairs, on the bed and even it "puts it to bed" at the end of the night. Replacements are always at the ready for her.They do seem to be made less less sturdy over the years. I've had the plastic cap with feathers fall off the wand (we usually just super glue it back on) and feathers falling out a little before their time. Yes, some of this is due to active play - if you get it moving/shaking fast enough it sounds like a bird in a tree - and should be expected.Is it worth the money? Most definitely! (Just have some super glue handy, you will need it.) I've only had one cat not like these, but that's because he wasn't up to the same rough play with it as my other cat. Even still he's interested. But as the alpha cat, we don't encourage him.
