I really don’t appreciate that. Let the book be full of outdated 2008 references! That’s part of the fun.So far the ebook has referenced Kamala Harris, Emily in Paris, Post Malone, iPhone’s Siri, Instagram, and Lil Nas X. Emily in Paris didn’t even come out until 2020. I found my old physical copy of the book to compare and it’s kind of shocking and hilarious the stuff that has been changed. They replaced a couple of mentions of Donald Trump with Elon Musk and have erased anything to do with Blackberry phones. I’m also willing to bet they threw in Instagram to replace MySpace or Facebook. It’s so weird to me that you’d edit a book to have modern references. Yet alone edit it and not mention it anywhere that it’s been updated. I can't wait! I have a feeling I know who it is but I could be totally wrong. For a YA series, it is definitely keeping me on my toes. When I think I have something figured out, Shepard throws me yet another curve ball and my assumptions come crashing down on me... hmph. Thats what makes for a great book series though so no complaining from me! There's nothing I can't stand more then a book that I can predict the outcome to, or when I know exactly whats going to happen in the next chapter- so annoying!
