I first went over this tailgate visually looking for imperfections and could find none. The install on my 2012 F350 SD was very easy. Only had to remove the rubber bumpers at the latch on each side as others have mentioned in their ratings. Even after completely removing these rubber bumpers the tailgate has no play/rattles when latched in the closed position. Makes me wonder why the mfg even installs them. I just installed the DeeZee tailgate assist on this set up and couldn't be more pleased. Easy install, fits neatly, and works perfectly. Review: The new tailgate looks great on my F250 - The new tailgate looks great on my F250. There is a some fine weld spatter on some of the exterior surfaces, which really would not warrant a full star reduction. I was disappointed, though that the product was received bent along the lower edge near the left side. Upon further inspection it was clear that the packaged product had been impacted (probably dropped) on that corner. It is seems to me that the packaging is really not adequate to properly protect the product if handled roughly during shipping. This is the reason I have rated it at 4 stars instead of 5. I was able to straighten the bent portions without any visible damage and did not pursue return of the product. I installed this on a 2002 Ford F250 Superduty. Installation was pretty easy but did need a little fiddling to get it right. On my truck model, I did need to remove the rubber pads from the latch area of the new tailgate, and also adjust the truck latch pins. With the right size torx bit you can loosen them and adjust them up/down, forward/back to get a nice fit with no rattle (as long as the truck's rubber stops at the top of the bed opening are in good shape). Once I got the tailgate straightened and installed, it looks and works at least as good as new! ### ⭐ Weak Paint, Weird Fit, Not Durable *by B***K on October 17, 2017* Install was kind of weird had to move the washers around and it's still not 100% locking into place, but the worst part is just from UPS dropping the box in my gravel driveway(must not have been that hard I was home) it has paint damaged from rock, I'll try to figure out how to paint it but maybe I should have just bought a normal tail gate. Also the middle section is pretty low it looks like it is have way in the picture but was really low when I got it...
