Very versatile and has a lot of freedom in being able to custom the game you want with your favorite cards.Simple base system for beginners and with each expansion pack it adds a new optional gameplay mode! You can play the same way or you can change game modes, you can do versus with friends, or fight against the campaign, or team up with friends against other friends or co-op in the campaign story. There's so much to enjoy here, and the best part is that you could just buy any of the base sets and still just enjoy that without needing to get any other expansions.Will be playing this with my groups of friends for many years to come. Looking forward to the new Dark Nights: Metal expansion coming this year (2020) too! Also shows there's a lot of support from the creators and fans along the years. This is a stripped-down subset of that game, with the Joker facing off against Batman, and a new ‘confrontation’ dynamic thrown into the mix for good measure. This is a great example of ‘easy to learn, challenging to master,’ which is just what I look for in a game. It is a two-player max, and perfect to break out for an hour or two of entertainment (each game tends to average 45 minutes or so) at night or on the weekend, when you don’t want to spend too long setting up and breaking down a larger game. It’s fun, fast, fluid gameplay, and I foresee there being a lot of replayability. Because of that most of the cards are relatively simplistic. This is great for people who are new to deck building games. Also given how the rules are set up, this deck builder is much more approachable than others like Dominion.The cards themselves are high quality with beautiful art most of which are pulled from comic book panels. This really helps to keep newer players engaged and it also allows for cards to be easily recognized.As with all DC deck builder expansions these cards are compatible with the other expansions and base games.
