There isn’t enough headroom, correct? My child is getting frustrated.** A: My grandson hasn't had that problem. The pilot has to be sitting to fit. **Q: Would this be simple for a 3-1/2 year old? What age range is this good for?** A: I brought the set for my 3 yr old grandson. I think it would be fine for a 3-1/2. We don't live in the same state so I don't know how much time he plays with it. **Q: Do you have to completely disassemble the plane to place the passengers inside the cabin?** A: No. Just pop the top half off. The plane consists of 2 halves that easily pop together ... top (red) and bottom (white). The wheel set is separate and pops onto the bottom and is compatible with all other Duplo Lego wheeled vehicles. My 3 y/o grandson loves this set and the size and shapes of the pieces are perfect for his toddler-sized hands. The figures are very cute and the pilot is decked out in captain duds. The wee suitcases open/close and are big enough to hide things in. The age on the box says 2-5 years, and I think this is a really good guideline. My daughter is still a little young to actually "build" with these. I help her build things, which she then usually tears down. However, she has still really enjoyed this set. She especially loves putting people inside the airplane and then closing it up. She likes the fact that she can see "people" in the plane. Over all I think this is a really good first set of legos (duplos). It has a good mix of people, regular blocks, and specialty pieces.
