Seems like a waste and a constant drain. This solved my problem!Overall I'm Very happy with this product. I looked into the racheting because of Shark Tank episode with the Mission belt. But I didn't care for the Mission Belt style and it was almost 50% more. I picked this up. It has been over 6 months, the belt looks like new. Other belts would start to wear/tear about 1 month. I use 5 days a week.My only complaint (and reason for the 1 star drop) is that the rachet part is a bit bulky and heavy and think. it would be better if it was made of aluminum (for weight) and thinner (if that's possible).I will buy again and differnt style/color. I have gotten compliments on it. Found this EazyBelt on Amazon. Liked the look. Never heard of this kind of automatic ratchet mechanism so I have to try it out.The leather material is of very good quality and yet flexible. It is comfortable to put on. The double stitch and metal parts show excellent workmanship. The whole product looks elegant and classy.I tried the automatic ratchet mechanism and it worked smoothly. The belt provides a range of approximately 6+ inches of adjustment range which is very nice. I cannot imagine my mid section would expand or contract by that much in years. This belt should last me a long time. The release button is located on the underside of the buckle. I was sold.
