Well that was the end of my excitement, I quickly realized that this was a poorly constructed unit with even cheaper materials. Right away I started to build the soft boxes and immediately tore the cheap reflective material on the inside. Normal soft boxes have the reflective material several mm thick, this was thinner than tinfoil. I then went to mount the lights on the stands and power them up with the radio receiver attached, looked good. I then mounted the transmitter to my camera and took the first shot..........it looked awesome, everything fired and seemed to be working properly. I took my second shot and nothing, just a dark picture. Third, fourth, fifth nothing; finally on the sixth try it fired. I checked connections put a brand new battery in the transmitter and still one shot good multiple shots bad. I tried the receiver on another flash and still the same problem. I lowered my shutter speed to 1/8th second and still no flash. I finally realized you do in fact get what you pay for. Amazon was great like always and returned it with no problem. I wish I would have read a review like this before purchasing. I ended up buying calumet flashes with less watts and a little more money, and now I feel the other way around; like I got way more than what I was expecting. Do your research, if you are looking at these you are on a budget like me. But don't save a buck and get an off brand product.
