It is installed in a stall shower on 4"x4" tiles, directly under the shower head, so it regularly gets wet. After 12 months of use, it still looks brand new. No mold or mildew at all. The adhesive bonds extremely well. We have several Costco sized bottles of shampoo in the caddie, the type you push the button down to dispense, so a lot of downward pressure is applied to the caddie. It is rock solid in the way it is attached. **Q: Our tiles are not as big as show in the picture. Would it still stick to the smaller tiles with the linings in between?** A: I have the baskets adhered to a glass shower wall. However? I can tell you the adhesive od very strong, so much as it is almost impossible to remove the backing without extraordinary means. The backing sticks immediately too. I dont see why it wouldn't adhere to tile. If you mean grout when you refer to "linings", the only problem i can imagine is the backing would have slight gaps because a tiled wall is not an even surface.
