This line is their LIMPEST which works best for me but there are needs for stiffer/protective "finishes". Best to go to Seaguar's website to determine which particular style works best for you. **Q: What is the date on this line?** A: Manufacturing date I guess. I don't have experience using it as a main line. I fish bass around fallen tree structure, rock and heavily weeded lakes so I use 30 lbs braid as my main line and anywhere from 8 lbs to 17 lbs fluorocarbon leader and it has worked great. I join the two lines using a uni to uni knot and it ties up quite nicely and has been plenty durable. Keep in mind because the knot slides through the eyes hundreds of times a day, so I suggest re-tying your knot every couple days. The knot will eventually fail due to wear.
