After you download and install the latest firmware version 0212 from Sabrent's website, this enclosure is very stable in Windows 11. Response is also fast and snappy. **Q: Hi, i need to clone my m.2 that i currently have in my notebook. to a nvme that i buy to do that, does this case work for me?** A: Hello, thank you for your question, if your M.2 SSD is MVNe we have successfully tested that process, however, if your SSD on your notebook is not MVNE we cannot guarantee it will work, also take in the count you will require a third party software to clone. **Q: Can this be used to take a drive from an existing, already formatted computer, and view the files installed?** A: Yes, you can remove your PCIe m.2 ssd and install it in this case and access files via usb. Be careful ... there are different ssd’s, make sure yours is PCIe (not sata) and check your pin configuration etc. there are different enclosures for sata. **Q: This unit only does up to 1000 mbps, does any unit out there match full spec of around 3000 for nvme pciex4?** A: No that’s the speed using PCIe connection. I tested the fastest speeds to be closer to 1000mbps on my Gen 4 PCIe nvme installed in the enclosure using a USB C to USB C cable included. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Perfect mac companion! *by on Reviewed in India 11 June 2020* Investing in this + NVMe SSD is better than buying an external storage device like Samsung T5 etc.. as this works out cheaper and gives the flexibility to use the storage as an internal drive if needed. This actually happened with me. After a few months of this purchase i decided to assemble my desktop PC. At that stage i did not have to worry about getting another hard disk. While this means that the case is not being used, but i can always buy a new NVMe at a low cost and put into this.NVMe are worth the investment over SSDs. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Prices have soared, more than doubled ! *by on Reviewed in India 19 July 2020* Sturdy aluminium case, got it at reasonable price, more than serves the purpose ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Sturdy but expensive. *by on Reviewed in India 6 July 2021* Quite a sleek and attractive looking product, a bit expensive though. This hardware is not exactly plug and play. The seller should consider the possibility that all the customers may not be novice and won't be able to get it running in the first instance. In my case, I installed a PNY 1031- 512GB SSD and the computer running the latest Windows 10 wouldn't find it.So, first I checked in the bios (press del key repeatedly to display bios) to ensure the PC is identifying the drive. It was present. So I booted up and navigated to the hardware settings and 'initialized' the drive upon which I was prompted to select type of file system (fat, NTFS etc). Once you have gone through these steps the drive appears in the file explorer, ready for use.The presence of two sided tapes is rather intriguing. I believe it's a bad conductor of heat, so I am guessing it is not to dissipate heat. Also gluing the drive makes it rather permanent and makes interchanging of the SSD rather messy.Interesting to note: such an expensive product comes with no warranty. When you add the price of a SSD this affair becomes rather expensive.PS:Speed is great. I cannot measure as I do not have a bench mark system.Does not get all that hot while writing although I have not glued in the supplied two sided tape. It runs cool while readingAlso. It is recognized instantly when plugged into my bluray player. ## Frequently Bought Together - SABRENT M.2 SSD Enclosure, USB C 3.2X2 to NVMe SSD case, External Aluminum M2 NVMe Converter, with Cooling Pad, Fast Data Transfer Docking Station for M Key Only, Supports UASP and TRIM (EC-NVME) - Crucial P3 Plus SSD 1TB M.2 NVMe PCIe Gen4 Internal SSD, Up to 5000MB/s, Laptop & Desktop (PC) Compatible, Solid State Drive - CT1000P3PSSD801 - SABRENT M.2 NVMe Enclosure, Tool Free NVMe and SATA Portable SSD Enclosure, 10Gbps External SSD Enclosure, Reusable Thermal Pad, Compatible with 2230 2242 2260 2280 (EC-SNVE) --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.hr/products/109774657-sabrent-usb-3-1-aluminum-enclosure-for-m-2-nvme](https://www.desertcart.hr/products/109774657-sabrent-usb-3-1-aluminum-enclosure-for-m-2-nvme) --- *Product available on Desertcart Croatia* *Store origin: HR* *Last updated: 2026-10-15*
