Nevertheless, even if the old connector can be reused, I'd rather just replace with a new kit, especially since I've already done the heavy lifting by removing the old unit and prepping the new one. Wrote this about a year ago and just saw it wasn't submitted, so let me just update. It's still working great. Other than this preference thing or advice, I found this kit easy to install and it works great.
