She teaches biology and environmental science. She has started a Hermit Crab natural environment. This shell allows students to see the hermit crab in its transition to a new shell. It is VERY fragile. It is crystal clear and actually very pretty. It is small, so there is some concern that the larger crabs may not opt to move into it, but that will be determined in time. Carolina Biological shipped it well packed to protect it from damage of any kind. It arrived earlier than expected, too. It is a little pricey, but for hand blown glass, it seems fair.
