I just adjust my poses to be less aggressive in the lateral forces. Sometimes I step off of the mat for more aggressive poses, which also seems to help for the balance poses (less spongy surface). Mostly I just need the matt for knee cushioning. I also wipe down my matt after each use, with a mild cleansing wipe (like Open Nature Cleansing Wipes). After about 2 years of use, 3 times a week, the surface is slightly more dull and there seems to be less slippage than when new. **Q: Does this mat have the same guarantee that ProLite has?
