Review: Great Extra Long Sticks - I was on the search for a new stick. My favorite brand made changes and durability went to crap. I came across these at an event, the church's drummer was using them and they felt great in my hand. Weight, the added length, just felt right. I ordered a set for myself. After a week of using them, I decided they weren't for me, due to the extra added lenght, I have settled on the 8D Extreme model, but would still recommend these, especially if you want a little extra reach.

I was on the search for a new stick. My favorite brand made changes and durability went to crap. I came across these at an event, the church's drummer was using them and they felt great in my hand. Weight, the added length, just felt right. I ordered a set for myself. After a week of using them, I decided they weren't for me, due to the extra added lenght, I have settled on the 8D Extreme model, but would still recommend these, especially if you want a little extra reach.

Love Vic Firth sticks. I’ve been playing with them for years. Over the last 6 years I’ve used the AJ1 or AJ2. They are light and fast so I was interested in the freestyle 5a as to how they would feel being an inch longer. I’m not a fan of a standard 5a. These took some getting used to but I really like them. They are heavier but after playing with them a bit I found that extra weight and length to come in handy. I let the stick do more and the results are sweet. I feel like I upped my chops 10%.
