They aren't very good on hardwalls either. Best to go with the old method of drill and plastic plug to be safe especially for anything heavy. **Q: What size is the pin?** A: I think seller should answer this simple question honestly. Length of pin important if you need to go through soft plaster or wood to secure into hard wall behind. **Q: What guage is hole** A: To be honest I don't really know, what i will say is I diddn't find them to be very strong.
