It was actually better than expected. Because of the price, I was assuming it would be cheap this aluminum, but it’s much thicker than the lamps you get in the big name stores. The setup was very easy, just follow the cord and screw the pipes together there. The shade was a bit different, seems to be a flimsy piece of plastic with fabric, very easy to install, just not like other shades I have had with other lamps. The provided light is dim, it’s very much mood lighting, not so you can see while writing or reading.The good, it does seem sturdy, although we don’t use the foot switch ever, there is the option. Setup was a breeze. Although dim, it does provide ample light, and is perfect for certain moments.The bad, the shade may need to be replaced after a while. I’ve only had this lamp for 3 months, so I’m assuming on this. The switch on the light seems to get stuck, which in my experience, it’s pretty common, and I’m fine with it.The overall, although the shade seems a bit awkward, it was pretty much exactly what I was looking for. The bulb can always be replaced, but the amber lighting does give a different atmosphere. Before buying, my husband and I were a little hesitant, because we were always buying in stores before. It's amazing, the real lamp is even better than the picture. The biggest bright spot is metallic simple sense massiness, ply and charge for the making of STH are very advanced. And for our old lamp, the same price, but high difference in quality. Authentic dark brown body, no obvious shaking (our living room is a carpet, if the wood floor will be more secure). Including foot switches and metal-colored pendant switches. The coarse, textured lampshade is very textured. The installation was very easy and took only 10 minutes to complete. I bought it for my friend's new home. After a few days in our living room, my husband and I couldn't put it down. Very happy with the lamp. I did not realize it was a mush shorter lamp than others I have...just a side note for people that might matter to.
