A third rat would make them squished, but doable.They look adorable in there like the shark tried to kill them, but they fought valiantly and won. Now they live inside its carcass like Han Solo in The Empire Strikes Back. They pull out the bottom padding and nest in there. But they’ve always harbored a hatred for padding so maybe that’s why. I’m sure they’ll destroy this one in no time. At first we weren’t so sure of the shark design since our 7 yr old insisted Chocolate and Oreo would be scared. But the guinea pigs seem quite happy to have a place to hide (I probably would to if I lived in a daycare where kids are constantly looking in and yelling). Only one guinea pig fits at a time, although that may be because these guinea pigs eat a lot (thanks to the kids) and are a bit larger than they probably should be.
