I'm on my third one, every time I try a different brand I find myself extremely disappointed over how inefficiently other brands, including some very expensive ones, cook the meat, it seems to take FOREVER. My $300 Char-Broil infrared grill takes 8 to 10 minutes in total maximum time to cook a 1" thick steak to medium rare whereas a $600 grill I just bought (and returned for another Char-Broil infrared grill) took well over 15 minutes, closer to 20 minutes, to cook a 1" steak to medium rare. NOTE: Readers should disregard Andy's answer from June 1, 2021 because the Char-Broil infrared Commercial Series grates he recommends buying, while easier to clean, do NOT fit Char-Broil Performance Series grills (which this grill is) as the Performance Series infrared grills have different size grates than all of the other Char-Broil infrared grill series. I guess you pay less for the Performance Series and in return get very hard to clean grates. But I'm not sure paying an extra few hundred dollars for a different infrared series to get easier to clean grates is worth paying that much extra for unless the other series grill grates also cook better (the rest of the grill parts seem basically to be the same, the big difference between the different grill series seems to be the shapes of the hoods (!) and the aforementioned different sized grates that are easier or harder to clean. **Q: what tools needed to assemble?** A: An adjustable wrench, a screwdriver, and a 7/16" combination wrench are all needed for assembly.
